It is really sad if at the rumour of your death people are rejoicing or worst still, hiding their giddiness pending a confirmation.
Some guy (dude from here on) lost his brother and harldy pulled sympathies from those that should matter (we all do but bosses are different). Not that they do not want to, some dont know if to believe him or they could have just cared less either because "its really a busy season and consequently they have no time to call or stop by" or they just dont care due to other reasons of a**holeness from him (so i have heard).
He once took time off because his girlfriend was sad that some footballer was fatallly shot. Imagine that, no relationship between her and the footballer. So you can see how tired people are. Then even with his loss, he bites (figuratively) but when he talks on the phone to people about it he is sober.
So someone sent out an email saying the dude died and his funeral is coming up as opposed to his brother died and the funeral is up coming. Sign acrad donate some money and the likes. He sent out 3 emails to have it corrected but somehow each successive email only made it worse.
Someone from across the ocean - literally - called to verify not out of compassion, from what I gathered, or with evil - whatever you define it to be - intention. It was more of "wow, it happened. ok, cool." It seemed like he would have been about as happy as if the dude at quit.
I dont know. It has been a laughing issue all day about his death. And I, I feel for him.
Should people be happy at the thought of your death? Even the devil sometimes gets some compassionate speech. May be if he was dead it would not matter, but he will be back and have to deal with the indifferent people. Ouch.

....at least, he has another chance to live (make right) if he likes not the undiluted (oops, pure) thots people have about him. Whoa! he lived to read people's thots of him.....a rare chance.
But, more importantly....it really matters not what people think of us; as long as we live according to our code (principles, beliefs, et al).
A thotful issue though.

@babe: I wont say he was that bad. i suppose some were just tired of him. one of the differences between Ali and Tyson is the former worked the crowd with delight, the latter with anger and rage.
@a go: no he is alive. his brother died. someone made an error in the email sent out.

@rethots: i do agree. i like ur thots in (). while i agree that what people think dont often matter as they would think what they please, living according to your code must be aligned with ones values. i think it is what you should be judged by. (my last sentnece doesnt make much sense to me but u get the idea perhaps.)
